Welcome to comp-free Friday, where we venture outside the world of workers’ compensation to demonstrate that we are not the only ones to have to deal with Dilbert-like actions. Today we will talk about stupid.

You see, there is stupid, and then there is stupid. Actually, there is stupid, then stupid, then Wisconsin Cheerleading Coach stupid. That’s the stupid we’re talking about.

Fox News reports that a ‘Wisconsin high school has reportedly come under fire for a cheerleading award ceremony last year that saw some of the teens win accolades such as the “Big Boobie” and “Big Booty” awards.’ Apparently coaches at the event gave out awards to a girl for her “enormous boobs.” They also presented a “Big Booty” award to another cheerleader because “everybody loves her butt.” A freshman received a “String Bean” award because she was “so light and skinny.”

Parents who were in attendance were so offended by the awards that some called the American Civil Liberties Union, which is now warning it may sue the Kenosha Unified School District over “enabling sexual harassment” at the ceremony. Honestly, that would be “Parents Calling the ACLU Stupid.” It sounds like we’ve veered into an entirely new level of stupid.

Seriously, have the winters just been too harsh in Wisconsin? Doesn’t anyone have anything better to do? The coaches were foolish to wade into the “joke award” arena in the midst of the ongoing #MeToo movement. And the parents involving the ACLU over the incident seems to me to be completely moronic overkill.

Can’t we just beat each other up behind the school and then go have a beer like they used to do? Things were so much simpler when there were not so many levels of stupid to contend with.

It is reported the high school principal was contacted about the awards by several other coaches and addressed the issue with the cheerleading coach who was responsible. I would’ve loved to have been a fly on the wall to hear that phone conversation. “She did WHAT? Who got those awards? Well, they are quite impressive. Yes, it is quite attractive, but we’re not supposed to talk about it, damnit! We’re the adults in the room. Why must I keep reminding all of you of this?! I have to go. The ACLU is on the other line. I wonder what they want….”

The principal learned that this was not the first time these awards had been issued, and they “were first given out in 2017 and that the senior class had originally picked them out because of the things cheerleaders are required to do every day.” The coach apparently told him, “They are always getting butts in their faces and other body parts.”

Well, send me in, coach. I’m ready to play. (Sorry, a bit of Blogger Stupid humor there)

This is what happens when you let the inmates run the asylum. Everyone gets offended and then the inmates parents want to sue. The high school has been told not to give out those kinds of awards at any future banquets.

The coach was asked to resign but refused. She apparently will be allowed to participate with the team, but in a “behind the scenes capacity.” Since they were handing out awards for cute butts, it seems like the perfect place.
