Earlier this week the Florida State Cabinet passed a resolution declaring March to be Kids’ Chance Awareness Month. Introduced by State Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis, it was designed to honor Kids’ Chance of Florida for their “outstanding work to ensure our Florida families have the ability to give their children an opportunity at a higher education in the face of adversity.” The Florida Cabinet consists of Governor Ron DeSantis, Attorney General Ashley Moody, Commissioner of Agriculture Nicole Fried, and Mr. Patronis.
I had the honor of being one of the KCFL board members present for the event. Fellow board members Jim Mcconnaughhay, Andrew Sabolic, and Judge David Langham were also in attendance. We were joined by Ashlyn Langford, a 3rd Year Physics Major at Florida State University. Langford is a KCFL Scholarship recipient. I had the opportunity to briefly address the Cabinet.
We are posting a few pictures and a video of the event here. Kids’ Chance, an organization that provides scholarships to children of seriously injured workers, is truly appreciative for the support of Florida’s top executives.
This video is 4 minutes long. Unfortunately, a mic was not turned on for about 30 seconds during the reading of the resolution. The volume has been boosted, but it is difficult to hear that section of the resolution.
